ROBOTICS

Robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) is a new surgical concept in orthopaedics, especially in Europe.

Robotics is a game-changer in surgery — it allows digital preoperative and intraoperative planning. With the help of robotics, the surgeon can perform surgical procedures with unprecedented precision. Don’t be alarmed — the surgeon is still the one who conducts the whole case and has total control. Robotics is here as a support tool.

This modern technology allows excellent adaptation of partial and total knee replacement to patient’s individual anatomy. Dr. Klasan brought his rich experience with several robotics systems from overseas to Linz and is the Head of Robotics at the Kepler University Hospital.
